Acupuncture

Cure Your Asthma With Ancient Chinese Remedy: Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese remedy method, by inserting and manipulating fine needles into specific points of patient’s body. Acupuncture (acus = needles, pungere = to prick) was brought to Europe by a Netherlander doctor who lived in Japan: William Ten Rhyne.

The basic principle of acupuncture

Human’s body has certain points that is located in one energy canal that is called meridian. Meridian is believed to have close connection with all our internal organs. The energy is called chi or qi. Acupuncture needless are used to increase or decrease the chi flows, and open it when there is a blockage.

The main goal of acupuncture is to detect the unbalanced condition between our yin and yang (natural power that exist in human’s body). At the start, there are 365 points found in human’s body, however now scientists have found about 2000 important points. All of them connected to fourteen main meridians.

Your emotional and physical conditions, as well as environment where you live, can affect the chi flows, and change it to become slower or faster. It can sometimes go to the wrong direction, which cause problem on certain organ. In that condition, acupuncture should be performed to help the chi flows to become normal again.

An acupuncturist will start the medication session by diagnosing the disease or the problem, in order to find out certain points that need to be stimulated.

The diagnosis will involve pulse detection, observation of patient’s skin texture and color, face, body posture, voice, eyes and tongue. The acupuncturist will also ask the patient about his eating pattern, sleep pattern, life style, emotional condition, and how he react to stress.

Acupuncture for Asthma

Asthma patient can use acupuncture to relieve pain and inflammation, by enhancing endorphin release, that works as a natural pain relief. It can also sedate the lungs, and eliminating or dissolving the mucus.

However acupuncture must be performed by an expert. He will diagnose the symptoms and the kind of asthma that you have, and will adjust the acupuncture method accordingly. Acupuncture is also effective and safe for children, however for them who are afraid of needless, you can substitute acupuncture with acupressure.
