Astragalus (Astragalus membranacious)

Chinese traditional medication has used astragalus to increase whe chi, energy that protect our body (immune system), and to strengthen lungs. The recommended dose is 3-6 g of the dried root, to be added in 12 oz boiled water. Drink the tea three times a day.
 

Turmeric (Curcuma Longa)

Turmeric, which has been used as the main ingredient of curry, and also used in mustard, had been used in Chinese and Indian traditional medication as an anti-inflammatory. The curcumin contained in turmeric has been functioning as a strong anti-inflammatory for asthma. It’s also found that turmeric has the same power as cortisone or phenylbutazone, however turmeric does not show any negative side effect as in those steroids. Turmeric is also proven to be stronger than ibuprofen, the other common anti-inflammatory drug. You can add a teaspoon of turmeric powder in a glass of milk, and drink it 2-3 times a day in an empty stomach.


 

Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza Glabra)

Licorice root works directly to hamper infection viruses, and to help immune system. Glycyrrhizin and glycyrrhetinic acid are two active constituents in licorice root, which can work very effectively as anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy. Take half a teaspoon of licorice root in a cup of hot water. Wait about 10 seconds before you drink the tea.

Feverfew (Tanacetum Parthenium)

Feverfew has been used in Europe as anti-inflammatory for migraine and arthritis. The researches have proved its effectiveness in preventing inflammatory reaction, and activating white blood cells. You can add one teaspoon of dried feverfew leaves to 5-8 ounces of water. Boil it, and drink the tea as much as preferred


Witch Hazel
(Hamamelis Virginiana)

Witch hazel is as effective in relieving inflammation as cortisone. Witch hazel also works to stimulate adrenaline to produce more cortisone, and strengthen lungs.

Herbal therapy for asthma are usually come as herbal tea, juice, herbal tinctures, and herbal baths.
 

Herbal Tea Recipes

Therapy #1

Ingredients:
Equal parts of
decocted vervain (verbena), horehound, and elecampagne roots.

Simmer the ingredients for about 20 minutes, then strain and cool it down.
Drink a cup of the tea three times a day.

Therapy #2

Ingredients:
Fresh or dried eucalyptus leaves

Simmer it in boiling water for 20 minutes.
Sip it.

Therapy #3

Ingredients:
½ ounce Elecampagne dried root.
1 pint Fresh water

Simmer the root in boiling water for 20 minutes, and drink the tea after meals.
